If you like authentic Indian food, this is the spot! The food and the service are equally great!
Good, but now that they are under new management I feel like I'm getting less chicken in my butter chicken... But I would go back.
Swagat Indian Cuisine 15380 George Oneal Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70817 It's been a few years since I came to Swagat. I heard they had some new ownership, so I just had to give it a try! Both the Honey Chili Cauliflower Bites (Favorite) and Lamb Korma (Lamb marinaded with herbs, garlic, ginger, and sautéed in red chili sauce) were delicious! Let's not forget the Masala Dosa, too! As a fellow foodie, you gotta take a picture with the food, too! I look forward to trying more items off their menu! #tonylameats #batonrougela #indianfood #swaggat #foodie #foodadventure
I've eaten here a few times over the years but had to leave a review after our most recent visit which was fantastic. The food is fresh and delicious, and portion sizes are generous. All of the staff here are lovely and you can tell they really strive to make it a great dining experience. Our server, Hari, was quick and attentive. He always checked to make sure our drinks were full and we had everything we needed, even when the restaurant got pretty busy about halfway through our meal. This is a great spot for dinner with family/friends or a casual date night and we can't recommend it enough!
Swagat Indian restaurant is the best Indian in town and maybe Louisiana. From what I have heard, as i have never been to India, it is also the most authentic in town as well. I believe in trying a place at least three times before facing strong opinion of it, so I tried this place four times. Throughout my times coming, I have gotten the Aloo Tiki (pictured below), Samosa Chaat, Chicken 65 (pictured below), Chicken tikki masala, fish curry, and the cheese naan bread. All of which are delicious. Food here is not always spicy and you can adjust hotness to your taste but expect it to be full of flavor. The waiter Harry is awesome! He is very friendly and pleasant to talk to.
